It’s Beyond Me: Knowing When It’s Time for Memory Care
11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Registration & Lunch
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Presentation
Presented by Ruth Hjelmgren, MA, MScEd, CDP
Whether you acknowledge it or not, dementia is a terminal illness. In some cases, it’s totally possible to care for your loved one at home with additional services such as hospice, professional caregivers, and financial resources. But in these times of struggle for in-home health services with staffing challenges, perhaps residential memory care may be the right option and prove less costly.
This presentation will cover the current climate for in-home and residential care providers, the pros and cons of each, the many factors that go into this decision, and how to manage the personal fallout of considering and using residential care for your loved one. Learning “when” is the right time and the right reasons to make the move to memory care can be in itself a relief.
